Karen has been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor for 15 years and has served as an Approved Clinical Supervisor for 5 years.

With years of experience in the field, she has supported individuals through a wide range of challenges and diagnoses, but has always held a special place in her heart for those navigating chronic illness. She is the founder and owner of Anam Cara Counseling & Supervision LLC, where she combines her passion for supporting individuals with chronic illness and mentoring pre-licensed clinicians on their journey to full licensure.

Karen is genuinely one of the most warm, down-to-earth people you’ll meet. She’s organized, intentional, and always willing to go the extra mile for those she supports.. Her knowledge runs deep, and her insight has left a lasting impact on many, including Julia Curtis, the owner of Sweet Bliss Counseling, who was once under Karen’s supervision and credits her with much of the professional growth that led to full licensure.

Whether she’s working with clients, guiding new clinicians, or simply showing up as a friend, Karen embodies what it means to be a genuine, caring human. She has a big heart for helping others and a true gift for making those around her feel supported, seen, and empowered.
