Miranda Short

Licensed Professional Counselor

Hi, I’m Miranda, a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for growth and healing. My approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, with a strong emphasis on cultural responsiveness and honoring each client’s unique identity and lived experience. I integrate evidence-based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and somatic techniques, with a focus on the connection between mind, body, and soul.

Originally from Kentucky and now based in New Jersey, I have a passion for supporting individuals from rural communities and understand the impact of generational trauma, stigma, and barriers to care. I have experience working in substance use and mental health settings, supporting clients navigating trauma, autism, ADHD, addiction, anxiety, and life transitions.

I primarily work with adults and young adults and have a strong interest in treating trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, and co-occurring conditions. I am especially passionate about working with individuals impacted by generational trauma, as well as those within the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent populations, providing affirming and inclusive care.

My clinical style is collaborative, compassionate, and authentic. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to explore, build insight, and develop practical skills that support meaningful and lasting change.
