Anxiety & Stress Management
When your mind is constantly thinking ahead, replaying what already happened, or preparing for what could go wrong, it can be hard to feel fully present. Anxiety and stress can affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships, sleep, work, school, and even how you feel physically. Therapy can help you understand what is contributing to your anxiety, develop ways to manage it, and feel more confident navigating the things that feel overwhelming.
What can anxiety and stress look like?
Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic attacks or constant worrying. You may overthink conversations, expect the worst, struggle with uncertainty, avoid situations that make you uncomfortable, feel pressure to get everything right, or have difficulty shutting your mind off.
Stress can also build gradually. You may feel irritable, exhausted, overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or like you’re constantly moving from one responsibility to the next without ever really feeling caught up.
What can anxiety therapy help with?
Our therapists support children, teens, and adults experiencing generalized anxiety, excessive worry, panic, social anxiety, perfectionism, stress, overwhelm, difficulty with uncertainty, school or work related anxiety, relationship anxiety, and other concerns.
Therapy can help you identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, understand your triggers, develop coping and emotional regulation skills, and gradually feel more capable of navigating situations that currently feel difficult.
What can I expect from anxiety therapy at Sweet Bliss?
We want to understand more than simply what makes you anxious. We also want to understand what happens when anxiety shows up, what you tend to do in response, what may be maintaining it, and what you need to feel more supported.
Some people want practical strategies they can use when anxiety becomes overwhelming. Others want to understand why they feel the way they do, work through underlying experiences, challenge patterns of thinking, or become more comfortable doing things anxiety has made difficult.
Your therapist will work with you to determine what makes the most sense for you.
What approaches do you use for anxiety and stress?
Depending on your needs and therapist, treatment may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, mindfulness based techniques, strengths based therapy, Motivational Interviewing, trauma informed care, integrative mental health approaches, psychoeducation, coping strategies, and other individualized interventions.
Do you take a whole person approach to mental health?
Yes. Emotional wellness can be influenced by many parts of our lives, including stress, routines, relationships, sleep, physical wellness, environment, and major life demands.
JuliaRose, LPC, CIMHP, is a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional and brings additional training in considering mental health through a whole person lens. This does not replace medical care, but it can allow therapy to consider the broader factors that may be contributing to emotional wellbeing.
